Mazarrón will become this week at a meeting of prominent figures associated with the environment (15/10/2012)

The Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón has organized this week the First Conference on Biodiversity and Environmental Issues in the Mediterranean Basin.

The meeting will be held in the hotel "La Cumbre" Puerto de Mazarrón on 18, 19 and 20 October and attended by important figures related to this matter as the National Environmental Prize, Pedro Costa Morata, the exjefa of Demarcation Coastal State in Murcia, Francisca Baraza, President of the Association of Southeastern Naturalist (ANSE), Pedro Garcia, director of the Foundation "More Trees", Yolanda Picazo, director of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) in Murcia, Jose Maria Bellido, and the head of the Marine Environment of Ecologists in Action, Natalia Martin, among many others.

The conference was presented by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and Councillor for the Environment, David Fernandez, who were accompanied by designer poster sessions, José Maria Silva, and the hotel manager "Summit", Bethlehem Jimenez.

Fernandez said that during the meeting "will focus on interesting topics such as the effect of climate change on the Mediterranean, marine reserves and fisheries, coastal development and the new reform of the Coastal Act which has already submitted draft government central ".
