70 youth from the Summer School "Red Cross Lorca" spend a fun day at the beach Rihuete (23/08/2012)

A total of 70 young people from the Summer School "Red Cross Lorca" aged between 6 and 12 years have passed today a fun day at the beach of Puerto de Mazarrón Rihuete.

As commented the coordinator of this Summer School, Vanessa Martinez, "children have been several gymkhanas with show jumping, balls and races, with which they have enjoyed immensely."

It so happens that some of these young people are direct victims of the Lorca earthquake that struck the city of the Sun on 11 May last year.

In addition to having been able to bathe in the cool waters of the Bay of Mazarrón, young people have participated in the awareness campaign on cleaning beaches and streets this year put up by the city to raise awareness of citizens and business keep the town clean is everyone.

The president of "Mazarrón Red Cross", Carmen Navarro, explained, "We have helped spread the ashtray cones along the beach. In this case we teach one of the work we do and encourage them if, in a future, want to join our organization. "

All have been visited by the Councillor for Social Policy, Health and Equality, Maria Martinez, and the mayor of Environment and Citizenship, David Fernandez, who has led some shirts that have been published on the occasion of that half year environmental awareness.

Both of them thanked the young people have participated in the Red Cross cast-ashtray cones and have wanted to return next year to Mazarron to spend a day of fun and entertainment.
