A thousand people enjoy Mazarron heritage through the International Museum Day (22/05/2012)

The celebration of the "International Museum Day" by the council of Heritage Hall of Mazarron could not throw a more favorable balance.

About a thousand people have visited from Wednesday until Sunday and the archaeological museum "Roman Factory Salt" and interpretation centers "Phoenician Ship" and "Tower of Horses", as reported from the said council .

Specifically, some 650 schools throughout the county visited the town museum and also participated in the workshop "Make Your Own Roman amphora" with which he had fun and learned aspects of the history and archeology of the municipality.

The students were also able to exhibit their works in the "Roman Salt Factory" where they were exposed to the public for their friends and family and other visitors to the museum space, could see these works.

Precisely the "Roman Factory Salt" also hosted one of the events in this celebration that has been most successful.

Specifically on Friday night about 130 people gathered at the museum to enjoy a concert of guitar artist "Nares Diaz" and tasting of salted fish and white wine was provided by "James Salt" and "Cooperative Wineries San Isidro "respectively for this celebration.

The evening was welcome by the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, who thanked the citizens' active participation that are taking place in social and cultural events that we have been programming since the City ".

Equally pleased were the other councilors who accompanied the mayor and were Maria Martinez, head of Heritage in the consistory, Maria Celeste Soria, Magdalena Mendez and Juan Miguel Muñoz.

For the rest of the weekend, the museum and interpretive centers also hosted some open days where noted theatrical visits to the archaeological museum.

The archaeological museum "Roman Factory Salt" can be visited from Wednesday through Saturday from 10 to 13 and 17 to 20 hours and on Sundays from 10 to 13 hours.
