Yesterday was held at the Universidad Popular de Mazarron Citizen Participation Council of Sports attended by more than twenty representatives of sports clubs in the municipality and citizens who wanted to contribute their ideas during this meeting.

The same was attended by Councillor for Sports, Andrew James, the mayor of Citizen Participation, David Fernandez and Councillor of Public Safety and Civil Protection, Miguel M ª García.

Among the issues discussed in the council noted receipt of the works being carried out in the Crescent City Sports League later this month.

The Councillor for Sports explained that "the municipal technicians will come later this month to check the status of work, that receptionist if everything is in order and well finished."

This would be able to start in February, two football fields with artificial turf complex for the use and enjoyment of the clubs in the municipality.

Still, there is a problem with access to the Sports City because it has not yet undertaken the widening of the road between Mazarron and Puerto.

The Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, and his government team studying various solutions to avoid traffic problems, and in this sense, the Mayor will meet next week with the Highways Agency of the Autonomous Community to address this problem.

Also discussed in the meeting the launch of the Sports Board.

The bylaws of this organization, which will aim to encourage and promote sports in the municipality, will be presented in regular full-January for initial approval.

Within this document has been inventoried equipment and the facilities available to the Department of Sports and also provides the objectives and functioning of the Board.

Sporting events for 2012 were another issue discussed.

Among them stand the holding of the first Half Marathon on February 5, the MTB rider up March 18th and the 25th anniversary of the Bay of Mazarron Futsal.

The session also works with the Federation to bring Sailing Championship Mazarron Spain-Class Sailing Cruise for the month of September, while in October it planned to hold a championship of triathlon by region.
