Jose Carlos Saguar Open wins National Fisheries VII "Bay of Mazarron" (07/12/2011)

Last Saturday, December 3 was held with the participation of hundreds of fishermen the Seventh National Fisheries Open "Bay of Mazarron."

Participants came from all parts of the Region of Murcia and various provinces of Valencia and Andalusia, turned to acknowledge the big picture that represents Mazarrón to practice sport fishing, being one of the best places are there in our region to celebrate the championship of the sport.

The species captured by the athletes during the test were blacksmiths, oblate, brackets and bream, and in some cases surpassed the participants had 50 pieces.

During the rally of the contest, the Councillor of Fisheries, Agriculture and Rural Development, Magdalena Mendez, and the mayor of Sports and Youth, Andrew James, thanked the participants for attending the event and explained that the City is working to establish a schedule correct for these athletes without detrimental for swimmers, as is done in the rest of the national coastline.

Mula, a commemorative medal of the event and a plate to the consistory for their assistance in the implementation of the Open.

After the five hour-long fishing tournament, the winner was none other than the current world champion, Jose Carlos Cartagena Saguar the yacht club Gonzalo Santa Lucia de Cartagena.

He was joined on the podium by two Murcia.

Second-placed Miguel Ángel Llamas Barbo club, and the third, Jose Gabriel Serrano Tecnopesca club.

After the cold night fishing and accompanying athletes were welcomed at the club with a superb BBQ then start weighing the pieces and awards ceremony.
