The city pays tribute to democracy and freedom (06/12/2011)

Mazarron Town Council was held this morning on the day of the Spanish Constitution with 3 institutional events in which he has been present the municipal corporation, and various citizens who wanted to join this celebration.

The agreements have been a tribute to democracy and freedom "we enjoy now and that is a legacy of all those who have preceded us," commented as Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo.

The morning began with an extraordinary plenary session held on the occasion of Constitution Day in which they participated, in addition to the Mayor, the spokespersons of the political groups that make up the heart city, who have read every one article of the Constitution.

They have been chosen taking into account the Mazarron idiosancrasia since been referred to the freedom of man, the democratic character of elections, freedom of press and communication, and the rights of stateless persons and foreign citizens.

Once this act, the majority of the council have moved into the garden of La Paz at the end of the street The way to honor the victims of the Mauthausen concentration camp and the quarry of Gunsan.

Gines Mayor Campillo, next to the first deputy mayor and leader of the PSOE, Francisco Garcia and Councilman Citizen Participation and the United Left spokesman, David Fernandez, have placed a wreath at the monument erected in remembrance garden for these victims.

There, Ginés Campillo has highlighted the importance of this act to recover forgotten in recent years "because it is fair to carry out this award in memory of these victims."

Francisco Garcia has been extended this tribute "to those who have fought and given their lives to defend their ideas and freedom," while David Fernandez has read a moving text that pointed to the 44 Mazarron who lost their lives and whose names are so Mazarron as Mendez, Zabala, Vivancos, Raja, Zamora, Acosta, Vera, Campillo, Walls, Brown, Oliver and Navarro.

The ceremony ended with the Spanish flag hoisted on the Avenue of the Constitution which will fly for the rest of the year.
