The Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, yesterday renewed vote of the patron saint of Mazarron, La Purisima Concepcion, during the Holy Mass held at the Shrine of the Plaza del Convento.

The ceremony was not only a great devotion by the people Mazarron, but also contained a strong emotion because of the sad events that occurred during these last days.

Especially touching was the moment when the parish priest of San Antonio and San Andrés, Julio Romero, said the difficult times being experienced in the town and remembered the victims of the double murder, Adrian Adame and Manuel Vicente Aguilar.

All the faithful prayed for them and their families who go through such difficult times.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Mazarron addition, the first deputy mayor, Francisco Garcia, and almost all of the councilors of the government team.

This tradition comes from the October 19, 1586, when the religious authorities of the time arranged, according to an ancient document, that on November 17 "is made feast and rejoicing and bulls run and play reeds, (...) also His mercies warnings to three priests for Masses, a preacher for the festival, and has general procession. "

This was the first "Vote" by the Municipal Corporation in the very church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, and the first holiday November 17 instead of September 8 at that time held the local festival.

In the afternoon, the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception hosted another liturgy which carried out the blessing and distribution of virgin oil.

That flowing from the lamp on the facts of the miracle should have been turned off.

Once this act, the "Virgin of the Miracle", a name that Mazarron affectionately named her patron, walked the main streets of town visiting the parishes of San Antonio and San Andrés.
