Reaches Mazarrón "Push Furious Wind," a novel by Garcia Pedro Espinosa Mazarron (12/10/2011)

The People's University of Mazarron (PSU) is hosting this Friday's launch of a new book.

This time it is the novel "Push Furious Wind" writer Pedro Espinosa García Mazarron.

The event will take place beginning at 9 pm in the auditorium of the UPM, located on the Avenida de la Constitución de Mazarron and will be attended by the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, and the Councillor for Culture, Education and Tourism, Maria Celeste Soria.

"Push Furious Wind" is a historical story that takes place in the early eighth century and describes the beginning of the conquest of Spain by the Muslims.

The narrative is developed from the Arab side, a fact that implies a certain originality because the story has come from this conquest is rather of Christian origin.

The main character must come to Spain to fulfill a mission that depends on his own belief in Islam, a religion so controversial then as today.

And this is reflected in the work.

The protagonist starts his adventure in Damascus and the route to get to Toledo is the subject of many an adventure full of intrigue and excitement.

It is therefore a historical novel, fully documented, in which there is no shortage of action-packed episodes, risk and fantasy, including the odd miracle distraction intended to give to reading and justify the passionate attitude of other minor characters of great temperament .

The title refers to the amazing speed with which the Muslims conquered in a few years much of the known world, including several ancient empires.

Above all it is, the reasons and possible limits of those Arab conquests, see some of the dialogues that the characters set according to different religious or patriotic they possess.

On the central issue, the Muslim invasion of 711, it is worth noting that just turned thirteen centuries now.

Even though it is a thorough work is necessary to clarify that the narrative lacks rigidity and is targeting the historical novel buff, perhaps today the majority among the most assiduous readers.

It is also a work suitable for people who want to enjoy reading adventure, travel, patterns of power ... as well as some descriptions of humor and allegorical or exegetical concerning the time, dressings that dot the narrative as we go in on it.

Its author, Pedro García Espinosa, born in 1947 in Mazarron.

Belongs to one of those generations of emigration daughters, so his youth and much of his life in Barcelona.

Accepted into a special body of officials and for over 35 years professionally dedicated meteorology, science in which he majored in aeronautical observations.

García Espinosa says being a good fan fiction and history, so that the works of prominent authors like Borges, Perez-Reverte and García Márquez, among many other narrators, and Sanchez-Albornoz, Marcelo Capdeferro or Levi Provençal, among historians, occupy a special place in your library.

Within the historiographical aspect, the cultures of the Middle East and the world of Islam have always aroused interest, hence undertook the task of telling a fictionalized account, thoroughly documented for many years, Hispania from the early eighth century, when Muslim invasion happens.
