Juan Soler: "I hope to solve some historical problems Leiva" (02/09/2011)

Juan Soler, village headman of Lewis, has taken up his baton with great enthusiasm to work for their parish and Mazarrón.

In his first weeks playing this position and has been aware of "the responsibility of this position is to make things go best."

Soler has been an agent of the Guardia Civil and knows better than anyone what it means to be an authority.

More so, if we consider that most of his years served in the Civil Guard as chief of patrol post commander.

Q: Are your neighbors being very demanding in these early days?

JS: No, because we just start working, but they expect me many things.

Q: And you hope to accomplish?

JS: Well, to solve some historical problems and the improvement and repair of roads or do not have to cut traffic on the bridge of Wadi Moreras every time it rains.

Q: I imagine that the roads are very important for the district, right?

JS: They are part of life Leiva, a daily, so you have to undertake an improvement of the same effectively.

Q: And how is now being life in the village after the changes in the consistory?

JS: Well, people are very happy because he sees that the new representatives of the municipality are eager to achieve great things for all areas, something we appreciate in rural communities.

Even those who at first were a little reluctant, they are now happy with the change.

Q: What do these last few neighbors who have changed their minds?

JS: You now see a great sense of responsibility in general, something that is very important, and a Mayor in particular, Ginés Campillo, who is genuinely committed to see their land.

P: I think the commitment is too general, does not it?

JS: Yes, on our part as the neighbors.

For example, my neighbors what they have missed is that, almost without money, we made this year's festivities.

The City Council has been unable to bring money and we have not only brought forward the festivities, but we have also made some good parties.

Q: You have squeezed the last euro to the maximum ...

JS: Even left-over money from the imagination and effort we have to achieve and manage the best possible resources that were available to us.

No wonder I'm used to ensure the wheel of the king, which is scarce and precious.

Q: Now what project you work?

JS: Well first of all I mean to do things with common sense, not to take decisions against the people or for the benefit of a few.

In this sense, we must tackle the basic problems of some homes to the electricity supply comes weak.

P: Mazarron has many shortcomings, right?

JS: Yes and no effort to rush through.

I will fight for a public transport upgrade plans with the new population centers or the proper signaling pathways

Q: But there are some things you have to request them to the Autonomous Region ...

JS: Yes in principle a solution must be asked what happens to the precarious situation that is the bridge or ford that exists in the Wadi Moreras and through which the road D-4 (Mazarrón-Morata) and which as you know, is that you can access Leiva, La Atalaya, La Majada, etc.

Q: It has become a black spot of our municipality undoubtedly

JS: When you built the Cartagena-Vera motorway, we were many who thought that as a result of the construction of this highway, build a new bridge on D-4, for which there are overflows every time it rains certain intensity and to prevent greater evils, close it to traffic.

Well, when the highway was built, what happened is that before entering the bridge, had a slope of 8% and beyond, or at present, the approximate slope exceeds 12%, and now is very dangerous move around.

Q: But not only is the gap ...

JS: No, it must be said that the road has no piles to point out the mile markers.

Which disappeared over 12 years.

Q: How do you see personally the new government team and the new Mayor?

JS: I am confident Ginés and people are also hoping it is like putting a good player on a team, do good to others.

Before meeting Ginés not trust politicians, now I think that a politician can be, simultaneously, a very honest person.

On the rest knew little, but I trust them because they all look toward the same goal: improving Mazarrón.

Q. What is it that you should never lose sight?

JS: It is important to be sensitive and behave with others as one would behave in the same.

This rarely fails and what has been done and is doing is right.

Democracy has turned away those who have not done well to make way for others who desire to work and we have high hopes for improving our town.
