The Copla municipal plan accounts for about 5,000 attendances during the summer (14/09/2017)

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, and the Councilor for Civil Protection, Laura Ortiz, have taken stock of Wednesday the Plan Copla municipal care and rescue in beaches that began on June 1 and lasted until last Sunday September 10 .

Alicia Jiménez congratulated the team that has composed the operation for their dedication and the important prevention work they have done during bathing hours in a summer in which records of occupation and tourist influx have been broken.

The mayor and the mayor of Civil Protection have been accompanied by Daniel Aragón, 112 spokesperson and by Carmen Navarro, president of the Red Cross of Mazarrón.

In total a total of 4,934 assists were carried out.

Of these, 4,610 corresponded to priests and first aid, 98 to rescue and rescue and 222 to Information and Social Services, accounting for a notable increase in all types.

Four interventions were carried out by immersion syndrome, managing to keep alive 3 bathers and finally regretting the loss of life of one of them

More than a hundred professionals

From July 1 to August 31, 36 lifeguards and patrolmen served in the 16 skilful surveillance posts on the coast: Mojon, Alamillo, Rihuete, Puerto-Rihuete, Puerto, La Isla Beach, Bahia, La Reya, La Pava, Nares, Castellar 1, Castellar 2, Bolnuevo Camping, Bolnuevo Center, Bolnuevo Oasis and Percheles.

Also available to this operation were a total of 51 aquatic lifeguards and employers, a communications operator, three coordinators and two nurses.

Increase in fleet and equipment

In total 4 jet skis and a rescue boat are part of the mobile fleet that integrates the Plan Copla municipal for which they provide their service more than a hundred professionals.

In addition, 16 rescue canoes, 4 transport vehicles, 40 portable communication equipment, 16 oxygen therapy equipment, 16 resuscitators, 30 life vests and 37 rescue cans make up the technical means available to rescue personnel.

The total cost of the Rescue and Rescue Plan in Beaches for the summer of 2017 amounts to 299,529 euros.
