The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'LACAR', an investigation framed in the 'Plan against theft in dwellings', which has resulted in the identification, location and detention of two persons allegedly linked to the authorship of Several robberies committed in homes of Puerto de Mazarrón.
At the beginning of the year, the Guardia Civil began the operation to investigate a series of robberies committed in housing in several housing developments in Puerto de Mazarrón, with the aim of clarifying and arresting those responsible, a fact that had generated some social alarm in the population.
Initially exhaustive technical-ocular inspections were carried out in the assaulted houses to gather all possible indications about the form of action and its authors, as well as to keep track of the objects stolen.
Common delinquents of the zone
The investigation has allowed the agents to verify that after the investigated facts were several habitual criminals of the zone, resident in the coastal town and with an ample criminal history behind them.
The illicit form of action of those now arrested began with surveillance on the houses to steal, to control the routines of the residents and make sure not to be surprised by them.
After selecting and estimating their viability, using force against doors or windows, they accessed inside and removed appliances, computer equipment and household items, among other valuables.
They used the assaulted houses to temporarily reside
In some of the robberies, the authors also appropriated the access keys to the houses for later use with the same illicit purpose, and even to consume food and to spend the night in the buildings.
Once obtained all the necessary indications and identified the two suspects, the Civil Guard established a search device that has culminated in recent days with its location and arrest as alleged perpetrators of the crime of robbery with force.
The operation 'LACAR', which is still open, has made it possible to clarify a dozen crimes so far, although the detention of more people involved and the clarification of more criminal acts are not ruled out.
The detainees, men, Spaniards, 42 and 43 years old, residents of Puerto de Mazarrón and with numerous antecedents for similar crimes, along with the investigations, have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Totana (Murcia).
