The Civil Guard detains a domestic employee for the subtraction of 60,000 euros in jewelry (30/03/2017)

The arrested woman is attributed the alleged perpetration of the crime of theft in two domiciles

The 21 pieces of jewelry were progressively subtracted until the owners, mother and daughter, detected it

Jewelry has been recovered for 12,000 euros

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation to clarify the subtraction of numerous pieces of jewelry in two homes, located in Puerto de Mazarrón, which has culminated in the arrest of a person as alleged perpetrator of continuing crime of theft.

Of the 21 stolen jewels, valued at 60,000 euros, have been recovered and delivered to their legitimate owners pieces worth 12,000 euros.

The investigation began when two neighbors of Puerto de Mazarrón denounced to the Civil Guard the disappearance of numerous jewels from their homes, although they had not perceived damages in locks, windows or other access to the houses.

The Benemérita inspected the buildings where they observed the absence of signs of violence or force in the accesses.

These clues focused the investigation on finding the identity of people who, habitually or occasionally, could have access to homes.

Progressive thefts

The testimony of the injured parties allowed to determine that the 21 pieces of jewelry stolen were disappearing from the homes in small quantities and in a prolonged period of time, reason why, a priori, they did not realize its lack.

The researches made it possible to find out that, incidentally, in both domiciles the same domestic employee worked, so that the tasks aimed at their identification and location were started.

At the same time, a number of gold buying and selling establishments were inspected in order to locate the stolen goods, one of which, located in Cartagena, identified several pieces that had been sold in December of last year. Had been destined to its foundry.

The identity of the person who had sold the jewels coincided with that of the domestic maid so that, once located, has been arrested as an alleged perpetrator of continuing crime of theft.

The action has ended when the Spanish arrest, 52, has handed over to the Guardia Civil part of the stolen jewelry, valued at 12,000 euros, which once identified by its legitimate owners, have been returned.

The detainee, the investigations and the effects recovered have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Totana (Murcia).
