The secretary general of the PSOE-RM and spokesman of the Socialist Group, Rafael González Tovar, has asked the Autonomous Community to withdraw the powers to the City of Mazarrón and is the regional administration who processed and approved the planning for the area of Camposol.

It has requested to be the Autonomous Community to assume the role of development agent to replenish and complete services and facilities that had to build the developer that built the complex, and that the municipality does not provide all the necessary services, and is willing to take over problems, although it is primarily responsible for this situation.

In addition, it stressed that the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) has to solve the problems of homeowners who are on the runway or margins of the Rambla de Los Aznares, agreeing appropriate indemnification or any other formula to fix it.

He recalled that in this urbanization of Mazarrón have built more than 4,000 homes -of which 400 are in the Rambla- where 5,000 people live, mostly of British origin, without having approved the Plan that would regulate this urban development.

"In addition, the streets are unpaved and sagging middle, there are problems in the supply and sanitation networks, public lighting, no greenery, no schools, no sports facilities, etc.", he insisted.

"The worst thing is the serious problem of flooding in homes built on the Rambla de Los Aznares, as has already happened in September 2014," he added.

In this situation, the regional government "has made a continuous act of neglect of duties" since the Land Law of the Region of Murcia requires them to assume the powers of the City Council in planning matters, if it does not fulfill its obligation as it's happening.

Tovar Gonzalez recalled that the locals claiming take 10 years and have appealed to all public bodies: City Council, Autonomous Region, CHS, Ombudsman, Regional Assembly, British Embassy, etc., without having had any response to the date.

In this regard, he criticized the Minister of Tourism has asked several appearances that seasonal residential tourism is promoted "but this development is the worst example of what we can offer in the region of Murcia and in Spain".
