Positive Rating Acuamed agreement with irrigators of Mazarrón (21/04/2016)

The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, considered very good news for the municipality the agreement reached by the Ministry of Agriculture, through Acuamed, with irrigators of Mazarrón to have 8 hm3 of water from the desalination plant Valdelentisco.

Jimenez notes that since the consistory, has followed the process first hand and for that meetings have been held and has been in constant contact with the President of the Community of Irrigators.

With this agreement aims Alicia Jimenez, Mazarrón irrigators will have this summer, the water they need.

As reported by the Ministry of Agriculture, in this case, the supply is subject to the granting of use granted by the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, and must be compatible with the demands of current users of the desalination plant Valdelentisco.

Meanwhile, the irrigation community is committed to sue flows continuously to allow optimum operation of the desalination plant.

The community of irrigators in Mazarrón has about 1,500 villagers and 3,800 hectares of crops.

To meet their irrigation systems have essentially granting the Virgen del Milagro desalination plant, which produces about 10 million m3 per year, and uses assignments of rights before the descent of resources from wells.

For supply from the desalination plant Valdelentisco distribution infrastructure of the Commonwealth of Taibilla Channel will be used.
