The Plenary approves to begin the process for the construction of the museum that will house the 'Mazarrón II' (28/08/2019)

The Plenary Session of the City Council of Mazarrón unanimously approved yesterday a joint motion of all the political groups that compose it, which confirmed the commitment of the town hall to begin the procedures for the construction of the museum that will house the Phoenician ship 'Mazarrón II'.

The motion also contemplated the requirement to the Government Council of the CARM and the Ministry of Culture for the ship to be reinstated to the town of Mazarrón once the recovery, treatment and restoration of the wreck found on the beach of La Isla is completed.

The Councilor for Historical Heritage, Ginés Campillo, congratulated that "all political parties agree on the importance of launching this museum that will be located in the area of ​​El faro very close to the beach where the wreck is located" and explained that "until September 9 we will not know more data about the state of the ship and the greater or lesser urgency to extract it or not, but we have to be diligent and take the appropriate steps so that, if it is extracted urgently, we have everything projected in what refers to the museum so that the ship stays in Mazarrón ".

The Plenary also unanimously approved a motion that also came from all political groups that determined the establishment of a work table to study and analyze the situation of the urbanization of Camposol at the level of Infrastructure and Services to alleviate their needs and that will be represented by the City Council, the CARM, the Segura Hydrographic Confederation and representatives of the associations of the aforementioned urbanization.

The councilor of Camposol, Silvana Buxton, thanked the municipal corporation "for the approval of the constitution of this work table that we need a lot in Camposol" as it is in line with what determines the report issued at the time by the Regional Assembly in regard to the situation of urbanization.

Buxton hoped that all administrations "work together to plan solutions to the different problems Camposol has".

A third motion, presented by the Municipal Vox Group, also unanimously went ahead.

It approved the appropriate measures aimed at having Municipal Ordinances in the field of noise pollution, adapted and adjusted to the characteristics and specificities of our municipality and the needs of convents and visitors.

The motion also requested that the dialogue with youth associations, neighbors, hoteliers and merchants be carried out previously, in order to illuminate a text, guarantor of a true coexistence, as consensual, effective and fair as possible for all.

The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, stressed the importance of "all representatives of political groups agree on issues that are beneficial to Mazarrón" because, as the mayor said, "some of the initiatives that are approved will be lengthened in time and the important thing is that, we are who we are or the parties that make up the corporation in the future, have these commitments because we have marked the path and the path in a faithful and effective way to how it is approved and go developing. "
