Los Rincones celebrates another year with San Cayetano (05/08/2019)

Last night they closed at the fairground of Mazarrón, the festivities of the hamlet of Los Rincones in honor of San Cayetano.

One more year, the neighbors fulfilled the tradition enjoying some festivities that began last Thursday with the transfer of the patron from the Sanctuary of La Purísima to Los Rincones after the mass celebrated in the temple.

The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the councilor of Festejos, Miguel Ángel Peña, and the mayor Placido Gómez and José María Moreno participated in it.

As is tradition, once they arrived in the village, they proceeded to venerate the saint with a series of trovos that were also addressed to the neighbors and members of the corporation.

Sharing some food prepared by the neighbors, this day was closed and, although the night reached another year to the celebration, in this case the agape was comfortably enjoyed thanks to the installation, for the first time, of a light bulb by the Department of Services.

Friday night was the moment of the proclamation that this year was carried out by Juan Carlos López, who delighted those present with his characteristic humor but also with a proclamation full of emotion in which references to the district were not lacking.

The mayor, Gaspar Miras, the mayor of festivities, Miguel Ángel Peña, and the peddler of Los Rincones, Francisco Sáez, were responsible for delivering a plaque in recognition of the crier.

It was also the night that the queens and misters of the parties of this year were chosen.

The Infant Queen has been Carolina García, as Juvenile Queen has been elected Marina Clemente, while Juana Rodriguez has been the Queen of the Third Age.

On the other hand, the Infant Mister has been the small Alejandro López while José Clemente Aznar has been the Mister Juvenile.

All received their bands from Gaspar Miras, Miguel Ángel Peña and councilors José María Moreno and Francisco García.

During the rest of the days, fun and conviviality was the general trend. On Saturday, August 3 there was a stick-chicken contest and foam party.

And at night, in addition to the performances of the dance school 'De Rosa' and Maribel Castillo, the traditional crumb contest was held.

Finally on Sunday, attendees enjoyed a play by the group 'Los Solterones' and the dances of the school of 'Juan Antonio Iglesias'.

The crews of Torres de Cotillas and El Paretón put an end to these celebrations in honor of San Cayetano.
