This Thursday the surfing didactic unit directed to students of sixth of Primary and of third of Secondary has initiated his walking in the IES Antonio Hellín Coast of Puerto de Mazarrón.
In total there will be more than 700 students from the schools of the municipality who will receive training and knowledge of this nautical and sports activity.
Developed by the Bahia Surf School, it has the collaboration of the Municipality of Mazarrón.
It is a pioneering initiative that promotes knowledge of an activity that in Mazarrón, as a coastal municipality, is linked to tourism development.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, wanted to be present at the first of these classes already used to greet the students of IES Antonio Hellín with the Councilor for Education and Sports, Patricio Sánchez and the president of the Bahia Surf School, José María Cascales.
The unit will have a theoretical part and a practical part.
In each of them students will be made aware of the benefits of surfing, as well as knowledge of marine currents and other technical aspects related to the practice of this sport.
Knowledge and respect for the aquatic environment are essential in a unit that will first take the practical part to the classrooms and later to the sea in order to familiarize the students.
