The Villa de Mazarrón story contest triples participation in the last ten years (10/07/2018)

Next Friday, July 27, the award ceremony of the Villa de Mazarron Tales Contest will take place at the Alegría Dos Playas hotel.

The contest that is celebrating its XXXIV edition will count this year with Antonio Lucas as president of the jury.

Lucas is a journalist and writer and current president of the jury of the Princess of Asturias Awards.

The author of works such as "Lucernario" or "Las Máscaras" will give a lecture under the title "The poetry of the story" next Thursday July 26 in the same place of the awards ceremony.

The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, has presented the new edition of the contest with the director of the Popular University, José María López and the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Martínez.

The mayor highlighted the national and international depth that has a contest that has projected the name of Mazarrón in the world of letters.

José María López has influenced the prestige of the figure of Antonio Lucas and has also highlighted the connection that the Villa de Mazarrón Tales have with the Princess of Asturias Awards of Letters, since in 2018 four of the members of his jury are related with the Villa de Mazarrón: Luis Alberto Cuenca and Came Riera were presidents of the contest in 2005 and 2006, Antonio Lucas, president this year and Ángeles Mora, winner of the Villa de Mazarrón in 1993.
