The third theater festival Rafael García Castillo brings the world of the scene to the Paseo de la Sal and Bahía Chica (05/07/2018)

Next week, the "Rafael García Castillo" Theater Festival returns to the Paseo de la Sal in Puerto de Mazarrón.

Third edition of a contest that has had a great reception in the last two years, with the attendance of more than 3,000 people.

The festival will be held from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 July at the Paseo de la Sal in Puerto de Mazarrón and will be closed on Friday, July 13 at Bahía Chica beach.

All performances will take place at 10:30 p.m.

The event was presented by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, in the company of the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Martínez and the director of the Popular University of Mazarrón, José María López.

The mayor stressed "the impact of an activity that denotes the commitment to theater that has carried out the current team of municipal government."

Jiménez also highlighted the work that the City has done to offer a free and quality activity and has highlighted the efforts made with the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA), adhering to the Plan Scene that allows to subsidize a part of the investment.

The title of the festival pays homage to the figure of Rafael García Castillo, a Mazarron, a doctor by profession who altruistically has promoted theater for more than two decades in Mazarrón.

The works to be performed respond to varied themes and will try to satisfy all audiences.

The calendar of performances begins on Monday, July 9 with "Adultery", from the Popular University Theater Workshop.

On Tuesday, July 10 will be the turn for "The penultimate monkey", a comedy and improvisation show.

On Wednesday, July 11 will be staged "Primaveras" of the Theater Workshop of the University of Murcia and on Thursday, July 12, "The nine and forty-three" of Jo Productions.

Finally, on Friday, July 13, the festival moves to Bahía Chica beach to take advantage of this natural scenery.

There will be interpreted "A bunch of rogues".

Highlight the effort made by the City of Mazarrón to offer a quality cultural event that is free for the public.

The consistory, through its Department of Culture, has managed on this occasion the grant awarded by the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA) thanks to its Plan Scene.
